RC Dragonfly
Remote control aircraft has been a favorite for flying enthusiasts for many years. Manufacturers scramble to bring the newest and most up-to-date designs to the market in order to quench the thirst for those who like to pilot miniature models. But now you will need to put your typical thoughts to the side. Instead of flying your typical helicopter, what about something different like a flying bug? That’s right, it’s the RC Dragonfly, the world’s first remote controlled flying insect.
When you first lay eyes on this creature it is stunningly realistic. It looks and sounds just like an engineered version of the real thing. What is so appealing about its design is that it can be easily flown indoors or outside. And the controls are simple to use so even a novice can have their bug up in the air in no time.
The RC Dragonfly was designed to depict an actual dragonfly. In fact, its wings actually flap like the real insect! It has an ultra-light design and comes standard with dual wings. This feature not only gives it an incredible likeness, but also provides much more stability when flying. Its body structure is a “high flex”, crash resistant so it can safely be flown indoor without worrying about damage to personal objects in the home.
Your RC Dragonfly comes with two flying modes: Beginner and Expert. When you first use your model it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the controls by starting out on the Beginner mode. This mode allows for more subtle turns. Once you are confidnet that you have mastered its abilities then you can progress to the Expert mode.
Charging time is maximized due to the design of the controller. Your Dragonfly will rest on the controller during charging by simply placing the dragonfly’s metal perch point on the magnetic perch of the controller. The dragonfly’s eyes will slowly pulse to indicate that it is charging. Once it is fully charged, the eyes will stop blinking. If the eyes start to blink rapidly, this is an indication that there is no connection from the controller. A typical charge of between 15 to 20 minutes will generate approximately 10 minutes of flying time.
If the charge time ever starts to exceed 25 minutes then it is probably time to replace the batteries with a new set. In order to conserve battery life, the RC Dragonfly comes with its own “sleep” mode, which will automatically turn off the LED indicator if the controller is left idle for more than one minute.
Where you fly is another important factor to consider. With its extreme lightweight design it is meant to fly in calm conditions. For optimal performance it is suggested that you only fly when the wind is at 4 miles per hour or less. Inside a large building such as a hanger or gymnasium is the perfect situation, if at all possible. With a maximum suggested range of approximately 150 feet this should give you plenty of area to take it for a spin.
The RC Dragonfly set comes complete with the Dragonfly, 2 extra sets of wings, the controller, a spare propeller, an antenna and the instruction manual. Just pop in some batteries and your bug is on its way! A word of caution: since being the operator of such a unique and interesting flying apparatus is going to be addictive, it is highly recommended that you spring for rechargeable batteries!
